CCSP at SGT University is a one-of-a-kind center of excellence and research across the whole India, dedicated to popularizing
and promoting science and space research in urban and rural areas.
While addressing the students, Dr. Alessandro Sozzetti, explained about the exploration of exoplanets, the viability of them sustaining human life and what the future of this field
looks like. He said there is a big possibility that “one star in five in our galaxy holds a planet like earth.”
He also said that Proxima Centauri, the nearest star to the Sun, hosts a planet that has the same mass, distance from the Sun,
and radius as Earth, having a high chance of hosting life on it. He highlighted that further research is required to identify other habitable Exoplanets and find traces of life in their atmosphere.
He also gracefully answered audience questions.
